  summary.    taesoo never had to wonder what it was like to be the favorite child. born with a twin sister to parents that had only ever wanted a soon, it was no surprise that he was spoiled rotten, seen as someone who could never do anything wrong. while most people would like that, taesoo absolutely despite it. the twins were like two parts of the same person, attached to the hip no matter how hard their parents would try to put a wedge between them. seeing the way they would treat taeran… well, taesoo couldn’t stand it. they learned to lie and manipulate everyone around them, all while plotting the best way to get out. the twins were still teenagers when they finally ran away from home, counting on stealing and playing cons on people to survive and keep hiding. things were far from being easy, but taesoo had never felt so free. everything he needed was his sister – as long as they were together, he knew everything would be fine.

  summary.    being the unexpected and unwanted twin of their beloved son, taeran knew from a very young age that, as far as her parents were concerned, she could very well just disappear. she never really understood much why they felt such a way about her while treating taesoo so differently, but she quickly stopped trying to earn their affection or approval – after all, she didn’t need it. she had her brother, and that was all that mattered. they could try all they wanted to push them apart but it would never work, for they were inseparable. growing more rebellious as she got older, there was nothing taeran enjoyed more than to see the redness of their faces whenever she made them mad, knowing that she would be free from it entirely soon enough. following after taesoo’s plan for their escape, she was willing to do anything it took to escape the home that felt more like a cage, to be just the two of them against the world.

  summary.    it was better to live on the streets and be free than to have people telling you what to do — that’s what sasha grew up hearing her older brother say. she was only a child when he took her away from their parents, doing whatever they could to get a roof over their heads night after night. not knowing any better, sasha was very grateful for everything that he did for her, and it wasn’t until she became older that things took a turn for the worse. there was very little he wasn’t willing to do for money, which meant that sasha had to follow along with anything he decided on. for a few years, she continued to live like that and do what she was told — until one day she couldn’t take it anymore and ran off. sasha had learned quite a few things from her brother about how to make it in the streets and get easy money quickly, and so she continued to do just that, with her eyes set on creating a future for herself that would make anyone jealous.

  summary.    two dads and two adopted children: that was the loving family that gaeun grew up in. encouraged since she was a kid to simply be herself no matter what other people said, gaeun started on a journey to self discovery very young, with all its trials and errors. she never cared to hide who she was, even when that meant getting called weird by most of her classmates. despite that, however, gaeun always loved to grab people's attention, whether it was in a good way or not. she just had to learn to tune out the criticism and own up to the things she loved and who she was – to her, it was always more important to be yourself than to be liked. with a passion for movies, theater and fashion, she got into university to learn more about it all, so one day she can work properly as a costume designer and ler her creativity run free. always working on herself and towards her future, gaeun will always give her all to everything she does.

  summary.    although he was the only grandchild and future heir of one of the largest conglomerates in south korea who grew up having everything he could ever want, kyungtae learned from his grandfather how to remain honest and kind regardless of his position ever since he was a kid. while there had always been people looking for chances to tear them down, their business continued to thrive — and, one day, kyungtae knew that he would be the one to run it, to make his family proud. going into business school and following the path chosen for him, he thought that was all there would be to his life — until a friend somehow managed to convince him to try something new, to make a decision for himself for once. it was the start of his model career, one that he juggled between classes and other obligations while realizing that, perhaps, the future he had envisioned was not all he wanted. maybe there was other things out there for him...

  summary.    energetic and antsy — from a young age, that was the way joohyuk was often described. the oldest son of the cha family, he had always been a bit of a troublesome child for his parents, who spent most of their days working and had no time or interest in actually taking care of their kids once they got home. finding ways to keep him entertained was no easy task at first, not until he found dancing in his teen years. unlike any other hobby before, joohyuk could spend hours dedicating himself to it without ever noticing time passing. upon graduating, he did the best he could to make a living out of it, but things weren’t quite so simple — to be able to move out of his parents’ house and start his own life, he took on a job as an exotic dancer temporarily. after all, the pay was good and he couldn’t exactly say he hated it, even if it was just a stepping stone towards the path he is still trailing to become a professional dancer.

  summary.    soobin, his sister, and dad — that’s what family had always been like to him. or rather, soomin was the one parental figure he actually had, as their father spend more time working than he ever did with his kids… but soobin couldn’t exactly complain, not when he knew she was doing her best. it was through soomin that he also found his love and talent for figure skating, as he spent hours watching her train by the side of the rink during his childhood. starting with a pair of her old skates at first, soobin continued practicing on his own through many scrapes and bruises, until he caught the attention of soomin’s coach. now part of her team, soobin poured all of his time and dedication into becoming the best that he could possibly be, accepting nothing less than absolute perfection. while there are already a few medals decorating his bedroom walls despite having such a late start, soobin will not stop until it is filled with gold.

  summary.    sun, beach sand and the ocean. those were the only things seunghyun ever needed to be happy. most of his family vacation memories growing up had been spent in places like that, with seunghyun attached to his little surfboard and pretending to catch the waves. even back then, he already knew that this was what he wanted to do with his life — so as soon as he graduated high school, seunghyun packed his things and started travelling, ending up all the way to australia. that was where he planned to settle, but only two years had passed when he got the news that his mother had gotten sick and that he needed to move back home to take care of her. finding a job as a lifeguard and doing his best to adjust his life plans, whenever the urge to catch waves becomes too much to bear, he’ll hop on a train to the closest spot, to let the ocean wash out all his worries away like always, to recharge his energies for the new days to come.

  summary.    a small town girl with big dreams, who wanted to explore the world — that’s who minako always had been. she loved her family and the farm she grew up in, but she knew that there was so much more left to see and experience outside of her little hometown. moving away from it was the first step towards her independence, but things changed quite drastically after only a year, as her first boyfriend was also the one who would end up breaking her. ending things with him wasn't enough to put things behind her, and so minako packed her bags and uprooted her life once again with an one way ticket to seoul. starting fresh in a new country wasn't easy, but it was something she needed to do for her own sake – besides, it was the new and exciting experience she had always wanted to have. with the dance group she joined for fun, new doors began to open for a bright new future she just couldn't wait to explore.

  summary.    the little memories emi had of her parents still together while she was a kid were far from happy, but she would never forget when she was five years old and packed her bags in secret as her mother took her away to another country. after that, her father was nothing more than an absent figure in her life, someone she mostly knew through the bad things her mother would say about him, someone who never tried to reach out. pushed into becoming a model when she was still a child, emi was living her mother's dream until it became her own too. their life was simple and busy, but happy – that is, until her mother passed away. still young and unable to stay by herself, emi was forced to move back with someone who knew nothing of who she was. however, as soon as she could, she packed her bags and left, to return to the career that had been chosen for her and make her mother proud.

  summary.    being born as the eldest daughter into a traditional and wealthy family meant having heavy expectations on her shoulders from a very young age. however, no matter how hard her mother tried to shape ayaka exactly into who she wanted her to be, she was far from being an obedient child, far too smart and quick-witted to be manipulated into submission. still, that didn’t mean that her mother wouldn’t keep trying, causing them to argue about anything and everything at every turn. tired of being forced to change into someone she wasn’t, ayaka left the mansion at the first opportunity she had, even if that meant no longer being treated as their child and being cut off from family. none of it mattered — it was worth it if it meant finally being free. it took ayaka some time to adjust to this new life, but she was nothing but determined and stubborn to make it work. no matter what, she was going to make her own path in this world.

  summary.    if asked about where his home was, carter could never really give a proper answer. since he was a kid, he got used to his family moving around wherever his father needed to go due to his work and was even homeschooled by his mother, a former university professor. she taught carter well beyond what he was supposed to be learning at his age, wanting her son to follow after her footsteps in the academic world. even as he finally went to an actual school in his later years, carter continued with his extra studies, taking a liking to learning as many languages as he possibly could. becoming a linguistics major was always the only choice for him when it came to university, and carter didn’t hesitate to go for it. top of all his classes, he picked up on a few jobs as a voice actor simply for fun and for the chance to have new experiences, still dedicated to keep exploring new things and to never stop learning.

  summary.    when both your parents run the cozy family restaurant that has been around for generations and is the neighborhood’s favorite, it’s hard for your life to not revolve around it too — or at least, that’s how things were for seojoon. spending all of his time between school and the restaurant, he always knew that he was supposed to take over the business, so how could he ever tell them that he had no interest in continuing that legacy? seojoon kept those feelings to himself, even when his passion for becoming a nurse began to grow as he took care of his terminally ill father. it wasn’t until after his death and end of high school that he finally came clean to his mother about what he really wanted — and while she still believed and hoped he would change his mind in the future, she couldn’t stop seojoon from following his heart. and so, he did, moving out ot start his own life and give his all to the path he chose.

  summary.    for june, being able to say that his mom and dad were teachers at the same school he attended had always been a source of pride, even if other kids might not think the same. his parents didn’t exactly encourage their children to follow after their footsteps or career, but doing anything different had never been an option for june – he had always known that he wanted to teach too, to carry on with the what he saw as their legacy. and so, he did. although there were obstacles along the way, june continued to study hard until the day he could return to classrooms, only this time as part of the staff. he would then quickly find out the job wasn’t as wonderful as he had once imagined and, in fact, came with a lot of hardships and frustrations – but that didn’t stop june from continuing to follow that path and make the most out of it, hoping to inspire his students to find and pursue their own dreams.

  summary.    unlike june, his younger brother, ren had never been too fond of the fact that their parents had enrolled them in the same school they worked at. everywhere he went, it was like they were always present – and while ren knew that they meant no harm by it, that didn’t mean it felt any less suffocating. his experience at school was also far from being as positive as it seemed to be for the rest of his family and, as he got older, his attitude only became more defiant, much to his parents’ dismay. as soon as he turned eighteen years old, the first thing reen did was leave his family’s house to live alone, taking some less-than-legal jobs to keep himself afloat – it was far from ideal, but it was worth it to have the independence he so desperately craved. eventually finding a better career path, ren continued searching for what he truly wanted to do with his life – even dabbling with a hobby he had previously kept private: his art.

  summary.    raised by a single struggling mother, jaewook was always expected to do better and to be able to take care of his mother as he got older. wishing for her son to have a better life than the one they had, she never hesitated to voice her desire for him to go to university and pursue a respectable and profitable career. jaewook, on the other hand, didn’t quite know how to feel about any of that. in school, he could never really dedicate himself to his grades, achieving only the bare minimum to pass despite pretending to study hard. when time for admissions came, it was no surprise that he hadn’t been accepted — but instead of being upset about it, jaewook could only feel relief. free at last, he could finally focus on what he wanted to do instead — and it was with dancing, his favorite way of decompressing whenever things became too overbearing, that jaewook finally could see what he would like for his future to look like.

  summary.    even as a kid, one could say that junyoung had always had a very magnetic presence in any room that he was in, no matter the situation. left in the care of countless babysitters and sent to preschool as young as it was allowed, he had always been a social butterfly, thriving on the attention from anyone that he could get, in any shape or form. it was something that only became more obvious the older he got and, with his outgoing and charming nature, it seemed only natural for the spotlight to fall on him. approached by a model scout when he was still a teenager, junyong didn’t hesitate to say yes — and his parents hardly cared enough to say no. from photoshoots to the runway, it didn’t take long for him to grow a reputation, shining brightly as countless gazes were set on him the way he knew it was meant to be. getting to do some campaigns and walking the runway a few times was great, but he was just getting started.

  summary.    elijah hwang came from a respectable and rich family, the son of the dean of a prestigious university who was expected to have a bright future ahead of him. such expectations came not only from the people around him but from elijah himself too, who did all he could to not disappoint his father – even if he never really seemed to care, no matter how hard he tried to do his best. since he was a kid, elijah had always talked about following his dad’s footsteps and going to the same university as him – but when the time came to send his applications and pick… well, things changed. with the discovery of his father’s long time affair, elijah began to question who exactly he was trying to mirror. so, he set off to a different institution, moving away from his family’s home to start his own life. the one thing that remained the same was elijah’s wish to study law – he just needed to figure out who he wanted to be now.

  summary.    when the yun family said they wanted to have more than one kid, they hadn’t meant all at once – but what was supposed to be only their first pregnancy and first born ended up turning into triplets, two of them being identical twins. skyler was one of the latter and, while he loved his twin and his sister, he did everything he could to stand out, to figure out who he was as an individual. when he was young, sky would jump from one interest to the next, waiting to find the one thing that felt right for him – which only happened once he joined the theater club. helping with the production side of things, sky discovered his passion for directing and being backstage – he just took a slightly different route with it q. he was still in high school when he ( poorly ) shot his own independent film and hasn’t stopped since, even if it meant having to work as a director’s assistant just to keep his art and movies alive.

  summary.    growing up, dohyun had always referred to himself as a movies and tv series enthusiast – he could spend hours talking about it and stay up late to catch up on episodes of his favorite shows, even if that meant slacking off with his grades in school. dohyun was far from being a top student for years, until a particular teacher showed him how to actually enjoy and have fun studying – and that was the start of his path to become a teacher himself, even if he had a lot of catching up to do. as he graduated high school, a lot of changes happened: getting into university, working, coming out to his parents, moving out to live with doyoon, the older brother he had always looked up to… getting out of his comfort zone wasn’t easy for dohyun, but he was determined to make the most of it – and maybe eventually take the chance to do all the things he never did as a teenager and learn to live a little for a change too.

  summary.    dex might have been an only child, but that didn’t mean that he grew up entirely alone. in a family with multiple uncles, aunts and cousins, there was never a dull moment in family reunions. however, dex was always known as the quiet one, who preferred playing videogames or staying on his phone instead of running around with the other kids. the internet had always been a comfortable space for him to express himself, and he even ended up with quite a few viral videos of his own. not only that, if someone were to ask him where a meme came from, the answer would come impressively fast. moving out when he turned eighteen to try to have a more independent life, it was time for him to decide what he wanted to do with his future. working with the social media he had grown so familiar with seemed like the only right choice for him – and dex believed he would find a way to make it work, one way or another.

  summary.    anyone that knows karson can say, without a doubt, that he is a very strong-willed and stubborn person, who likes things to be done the way he thinks is right. as a kid, such a behavior was much too similar to his mother’s, which meant that they were constantly fighting – and that relationship grew even more difficult as they got a younger son, one that was the child their mother always wished she had. despite the distance karson put between himself and his brother, however, the other always seemed to want to get closer – so much so that, when karson stormed out of the house one day, kimun followed after him, never to be seen again. while karson refused to let the blame be placed solely on his shoulders, he couldn’t help the guilt he felt deep inside – leaving his home behind, he did everything he could to forget about his family and move on with his life. after all, he had never needed anyone and he wasn't about to start.

  summary.    after being taken away from his father at eight years old and placed in foster care, minchul never really felt like he belonged anywhere. he wasn’t optimistic enough to believe he’d ever be adopted given his circumstances, so he accepted that he’d stay in the system until he was old enough to leave. with the help of his teachers, minchul began preparing for that day – knowing he’d have little to no support once he was on his own. determined to build a better future, he worked hard to earn a sports scholarship for college and never took the opportunity for granted. joining the volleyball team to stay active, he found something unexpected: the big, welcoming family he’d never had. as their captain, he felt a responsibility to take care of his team – but it was their support that kept him going and moving forward, chasing his dream of becoming a teacher and one day helping kids the way others had once helped him.

  summary.    there was one thing that had always been a big part of theo’s life ever since they were a teen: fandoms. theo had never known how to enjoy anything casually, diving head first into any piece of media that they liked, be it books, movies, tv shows or bands. however, simply consuming content was far from enough for them, as theo wanted to be a part of it too. fanfiction, fanart, edits and videos… there was very little they wouldn’t do for their favorites when they got obsessed. it was such a constant in theo’s life that they learned quite a bit of different skills just to actively participate in any fandoms that they found themself in. improving with every year that passed, theo began to develop a bit of a name for themself on the spaces they occupied online — and once they took their first commission and realized they could make money off it, they never stopped, even turning such abilities into a fulltime career and their future.

  summary.    while namgil’s parents had always said that they wanted to get married and have kids, their only son couldn’t say that they really felt like a proper or happy family ever since he was born. namgil was still rather young when he realized that his parents would always choose each other before him and he refused to beg for things to be different, accepting that he would always just be an afterthought to them. instead, he’d rather find things to occupy himself, just so he could spend as little time as possible at home – not that his mom and dad noticed or minded it in the slightest. it was then that namgil found his love for music, even becoming part of a band for a bit before realizing that he’d rather work from the sidelines instead. getting an internship at an entertainment company, he dedicated himself to the position, hoping to one day become someone that would give new artists a chance to shine.

  summary.    as a kid, it didn’t take long for micah to feel like his mother didn’t really want to take care of him, but it wasn’t until his younger brother was born that he fully realized that was always going to be his reality. although he was only a couple of years older than ezra, micah was tasked with looking after him the way a parent should and, while he was only a child himself, he did everything he could to make sure his brother was well fed and had everything he needed – after all, just because micah had to do that for himself, that didn’t mean ezra had to go through the same. years passed and they both grew up, but micah still continued to do what he always did – and even spoiled his younger brother a little too. renting an apartment ( with a room for ezra, of course ) after getting a promotion in his stable office job, micah is the textbook example of a well adjusted adult – or that’s what he wants everyone to keep thinking.

  summary.    being the oldest child in a family that could be very easily described as a complete mess in the worst ways possible, joonwoong learned to take care of himself since he was young. he never once complained, however, having long accepted that he could not rely on his parents for anything and deciding to build a better future for himself. joonwoong spent the majority of his time training singing and dancing, determined to get a chance in the entertainment industry. such hard work was quickly paid off as he debuted in the group syn:energy, which became one of the top artists in south korea in their first years. however, things were far from being ideal – over time, internal struggles caused the group to waver until there was no choice but to announce the disbandment. joonwoong refused to not let himself fade away into the unknown, though, then stepping into the stage on his own to start his solo career.

  summary.    not every divorce had to be problematic and such was the case with yeonghwan’s parents, who split up before he could even make memories of them together but remained very friendly with each other and cared for him to the best of their abilities. after a few years, his father was the first one to get remarried and give yeonghwan a half sibling, a little girl by the name of dasom, whom he later became extremely attached and protective over. his life took a turn when he turned fifteen, however, as yeonghwan moved into a dorm to began his training as an idol, later debuting as the youngest member of the popular group called syn:energy. for a few years, that was yeonghwan’s life – until their inevitable disbandment, seven years after debut. although it was scary to be on his own, yeonghwan had enough talent and experience in the industry to be able to make it solo – and that was exactly what he would do.

  summary.    while many teenagers dreamed about debuting as an idol, joining the industry at such a young age always left some scars, in one way or another – and daehyun knew that well. he had been merely sixteen when his group, syn:energy, released their first song, their popularity not taking long to rise afterward. for awhile, they were a rather famous group, winners of multiple awards in music shows. while things looked perfect on the outside, it was not exactly the truth, though. their disbandment inevitably was announced, and daehyun stepped away from his career to focus on his mental health, choosing a survival show to be his return to the industry years later. being on his own and out in the spotlight again was terrifying, but he couldn’t bring himself to fully move away from it either – so all he could do was try to make it work the best he could, to show and share his talent with the world like he had always wanted.

  summary.    daeseong was only nine years old when he saw the brother he admired so strongly, daehyun, enter the world of the entertainment industry. perhaps due to his influence, daeseong showed a passion for singing and dancing since he was young too, never missing a chance to claim that he would be just like his brother when he grew up – and that was exactly what he did. as a trainee, it would be fair to say that daeseong was quite the menace, breaking every rule that he was given, yet somehow managing to charm his way out of trouble until his group’s debut. although they were a success at first, it seemed one hit song was all they could get – and so the fan favorite was chosen to join the newest survival group in an attempt to raise their popularity once again. despite being known for not taking things seriously, though, daeseong was determined to give his all to win and show that there was more to him than people expected.

  summary.    minho couldn’t say he ever knew what it was like to be loved and wanted by his parents. his father was not only a stranger, but someone he was told terrible things about, while his mother acted as if she kept him purely out of obligation. with it being just the two of them in the house, minho even learned to take care of himself and help around as much as he could as a kid, wishing to lessen his mother’s burden. growing up, not much changed… except for the fact that he gained even more responsibilities, only getting a break from it all when he was at school. it was also there that he met daeseong and junho, with whom he first experienced the companionship he so badly craved, knowing that he would now go wherever they did – and, as such, he followed them on the path to become an idol, wanting to support and make his friends proud while hoping that there would be a spot there for him to shine too.

  summary.    being the heir of a well off family would be many people’s dreams, but the reality was not quite so nice to junho. they knew exactly what they wanted their son to be even before he was born, not taking into consideration his wants – leaving no room for him to discover for himself either and turning junho into an exceptional liar in the process, able to hide anything he knew they would consider inappropriate. it was almost a miracle he was allowed to go to high school regularly, but it was there he met the friends that would change his life. thinking he was old enough to make his own decisions, junho announced to his dad that he would become an idol, only for him to be cut off and sabotaged at every turn until one company finally took him in in a contract that was kept secret up to his debut. what would come after, he wasn’t sure, but junho was simply determined to make it work despite of his parents.

  summary.    kitae loved the cameras and the cameras loved him. that’s the way things had always been, ever since his mother was approached about her child becoming a model. it was only meant to be a few jobs to save up for his college funds, but there was never any doubt that kitae loved it – and so, why not let him continue? even as he grew older and found new interests, he still happily continued modeling. one of the interests he discovered, however, was dancing. having worked with a few idols during his career, kitae fell in love with the idea of it all, but no one seemed to take it seriously. still, he didn’t give up, knowing that all he needed was one person to believe in him and, eventually, he found it. of course, he still had a long way to go, not having received proper training before all of this, but he was excited. taking a break from his job, kitae focused on practicing hard, so that he could come back to the spotlight brighter than before.

  summary.    a bright, sensitive, and artistic young man — those were the words seongmin grew up hearing his aunt use to refer to him, the one who was responsible for raising him while his father worked day and night. such artistic tendencies were undoubtedly her influence too, as she was much like that herself too. two peas in a pod, that’s what they were. while she was a painter, though, seongmin was a musician, with a talent for singing and writing his own songs. of course, they were a little silly and childish at first, but she could see the potential and she never failed to tell him that. said talent was then encouraged and nurtured, even though it went against his father’s wishes, until the offer to become an idol came knocking on his door. although it was different than what he imagined for himself, the opportunity to sing would be worth it, and seongmin could only hope one day his music would reach even more people.

  summary.    to stay on land and pursue their love, a mermaid first must give away her tail and turn her back to the sea permanently — and that was exactly what jooeun's mother had done. as her daughter and only half mermaid, jooeun was destined to live a very ordinary life herself too, but she had always been told the truth about her origins. while her mother's love might last forever and keep her bound to the land, though, the same couldn't be said about her father's, as a human's heart is ever so fickle — as he left them both, he took his wife’s life with him. the only ability jooeun shared with her beloved mother was her voice, able to mesmerize anyone with it — and it was precisely that voice that led her into the idol life, to become the most promising trainee and debut so quickly after signing a contract. though jooeun’s heart might still belong to the sea, she was sure as hell going to make her presence on earth be noticed too.

  summary.    there had once been a young little boy who was not quite like the others. possessed by an evil entity that no one could protect him from, his life ended quickly and painfully. however, the soul that was still tethered to such a powerful being did not take long to return to earth, to reincarnate into a child who was also not like the others, reliving the memories of everything he had gone through nearly every night. as he got older, seungjae began to learn that those nightmares weren’t simple creations of his imagination, and they progressively got worse. it was only a matter of time before the one that had possessed him in the past would return, but at least this time he could prepare himself – or try to. through research and practice, he did his best to save others from the same fate he once had so that when the time came for him to face his demons again, he would be as ready as one can be when it comes to saving their own life.

  summary.    kaede's interest in ghosts had come from a very young age, much to her parent's dismay. finding ways to watch every single movie she could about it ever since she was a kid, she grew more and more creative to go around her parents' restrictions on such content. when she was a teenager, her fascination for abandoned buildings and their story came naturally, and kaede was always the first one to invite and try to convince her friends to join her in exploring it – always at night, of course. adventuring whenever she heard new ghost stories, she recorded and posted it online often, even growing a bit of a following on her channel. her first experience with something truly supernatural, however, only came when she met oliver, a true psychic – and while the encounter had been dangerous and distressing, she wanted more. from that day forward, she continued to follow him on this journey – always recording, of course.

  summary.    how long could a star live for and why did they fall? those were some questions aster would often find themself asking, but there was little they could do to figure it out from their spot in the night sky. aster was ever so curious, watching humans cycling through their lives so quickly. once in awhile, one of the stars around them would fall into earth's orbit, and they’d see humans watch its descension with awe in their eyes while whispering wishes. when the time for aster to fall came, they didn’t know whether they had caused it upon themself due to their curiosity or if it was just the way things were meant to be – but they felt a sense of excitement about finally being able to find out. just like the ones that had fallen before them, aster had no way of returning to the sky, stuck in a body that looked much like the humans they used to watch... but at least now they would be able to watch things from a closer perspective, right?

  summary.    a very long time ago, in a time when evil ran rampant, the choi clan was their village’s protectors, their sanctuary. hangyeol was the oldest son of their last generation, the one who would eventually become the head of the family and carry on with the work they had been doing for many centuries now. however, he was not the only child his parents had – yoojoon, their second son, came along bearing none of their family’s abilities. while he was seen as a disappointment to the elders, hangyeol always cared greatly for that younger brother of his, trying his best to prevent the fate of his early death, but failing. as society evolved, the need for their protection began to fade away, with many of the chois eventually deciding that it was time for their life to come to an end – but not hangyeol. alone, he kept going, waiting for the day his brother would return to the family with nothing more than hope keeping him alive.
